Thursday 6-16

Lynn has finally had her Trach removed- 2 weeks after being admitted to Kaiser Vallejo though Kaiser knew she was going to be there for months before she arrived! Unfortunately she is refusing to go to class, probably due to her coming out of the general anesthesia administered late Tuesday. She had some nausea and had to endure a lengthy swallow assessment. Her discharge is still scheduled for Tues the 21st. Family asked her Kaiser Social Worker for an appointment on Monday for some members to receive the touted discharge planning and was told by the head of the department they had already given that to her son and not to expect the appointment! Family is hoping Kaiser will give her a longer stay now that the jaw wires and trach tube have finally been removed and she has had a chance to come out of the anesthesia with a real chance to focus on her rehab.
